BlackBerry 9800: FCC Approval?

Or could this be the BlackBerry Storm 3?

BlackBerry 9800: FCC Approval?

3 August 2010 13:53 GMT / By Paul Lamkin

Pocket-lint is expecting some BlackBerry news to drop today and, if you're keen to know what's in store then, we're hedging our bets on a BlackBerry Storm 3 launch.

But news has reached us from across the pond that the FCC has approved BlackBerry smartphone model RCY71UW - which looks awfully similar to the BlackBerry 9800 pictures and videos that have been floating about in recent weeks.

The approved device has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/1900, UMTS II (1900), V (850), GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800 MHz bands and UMTS I (2100) bands listed for international use. It has also been confirmed that it is a slider.

So what is it exactly? Well, stick around to Pocket-lint where we're hoping to reveal all.

In the meantime, give us your thoughts on what RIM might be uncovering using the comments below, and check out our rumours rundown.
