We've seen a few iPad mount custom jobs before, but to Pocket-lint's knowledge this is the first attempt by a company, in this case Woodford design, to manufacture and sell a fridge-related magnetic iPad mount to the public at large.

Named the FridgePad, it apparently, "mounts your iPad to your kitchen fridge so it’s at the heart of your home and in a perfect location for all the family to use".

We are told that the device is cast out of solid chunk of aluminium, and comes in a tasteful silver finish, however there doesn't appear to be any reference to the strength of the magnets, which for us, would be of paramount importance.

We can see it now: stroppy teenager goes to fridge to retrieve a bottle of fizzy pop, before slamming fridge door whereby your beloved iPad crashes to the ground. Though we're sure this particular eventuality has been covered.

The FridgePad, priced at £49, will be available at Amazon from autumn 2010 and if you want to register interest you can take a look at www.woodforddesign.com.
