Picture the scene:
You’re a young, thrusting, wannabe internet entrepreneur and you’ve got an idea. It’s not massively original, but you’ve got the products, the enthusiasm and you’ve got a great advertising idea to boot.
You’re pitching your website to some venture capitalists and the subject of the name comes up.
Now, either they settled on this with a delicious sense of irony, or (more depressingly) everybody in the room was too young to remember boo.com, one of the more notorious companies that went belly up when the dot com bubble burst a few years back.
Either way, Boohoo, however misguided the name, does have some great female fashions at affordable prices.
It’s bang on with the latest trends (I’m reliably informed by people who know about such things) and is proving popular with fashionistas from all walks of life.
