We don't always bring you news about phones if they are set to exclusively launch over in Asia, and there's no word that we'll be seeing them in the western world.

But it's not everyday that LG unveils a monster of an Android handset either. So forgive us for wanting to bring you news of this one.

To go with the news regarding the LG Optimus One and the LG Optimus Chic, the electronics giant has also revealed the details of the LG Optimus Z.

It's an Android 2.1 running machine (with a Froyo update before the year is out) with a 3.5-inch WVGA "Hyper HD display". It has a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and two 1350mAh batteries for longer life.

There's also a 5-megapixel camera on board as well as Dolby Mobile and DivX compatibility.

It also has a couple of neat little PC hook-up features including an on screen display of the phone's display - which is sent via Bluetooth or a data-cable. This lets you use your phone from your desktop without having to pick it up. You can also share files between your PC and your LG Optimus Z using a drag and shake method or an over-the-air sync feature.

The LG Optimus Z is coming soon to Korea, with LG promising that more devices (including its Android tablet) will be available before the end of 2010.

It's also unlikely to make it out of the country. However, a contact at LG over there suggests that we might get something else: "Overseas markets are likely to get something similar but not this. R&D says Z was designed for Korean tastes, which I don't quite understand because this is the best looking Android smartphone I've seen come out of LG yet!"
