MSI CR630: C-series goes lightweight

MSI has announced the latest arrival in its C-series notebook range - the CR630 - and the emphasis from the Taiwanese manufacturer is on how light the machine is.

It weighs in at less than 2.5kg - which may not sound very light, but this is a 15.6-inch screen notebook, so it's hardly hefty either. Size wise it measures 374 x 247.5 x 35mm, so it is pretty slimline - although we have to say we've seen much skinnier notebooks.

The hardware on board is dominated by AMD components. It has an AMD Athlon II P320 Dual-Core processor with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4270 GPU.

There is 4GB of RAM (DDR3) and a HDD with 320GB of space. The 15.6-inch screen has a resolution of 1366 x 768 and the optical drive has a Blu-ray option as well.

You'll be able to connect via Wi-Fi and also Bluetooth 2.1, and you'll be able to chat to your contacts using the 1.3-megapixel camera.

The MSI CR630 is available now for £499.99. There is also a non Blu-ray option available that will cost you £50 less.
