Samsung, fresh from the launch of two new 2View range cameras, has also now announced a new budget compact - the PL200 - that has some fairly hefty tech on board for a snapper that will cost you less than £150.
It's a 14.2-megapixel camera, with HD video shooting available as well. Videos are shot in 30fps, 720p and encoded in H.264.
With still images, there is dual image stabilisation (optical and digital), smart auto, and blink and face detection. It's got a 7x optical zoom with a focal length equivalent of 31mm-217mm.
All of this tech is packed into a tight little chassis measuring just 9.9 x 5.8 x 2.1cm.
“The PL200 is the ideal digital camera for those who value simplicity but also long for a more immersive digital imaging experience”, said Steve Mitchell of Samsung Digital Imaging.
“With the PL200, consumers can experience the versatility offered by more advanced digital cameras, along with a comprehensive suite of automatic controls, allowing them to step up to the next level of digital camera without stepping outside of their comfort zone”.
The Samsung PL200 hits the shops in September and will cost you less than £150 as previously mentioned. A penny less to be precise.
