Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO, might have said that a white version of the iPhone 4 was coming at the end of July, however it seems that promise has been shattered with Apple issuing a statement on Friday to say that the white iPhone 4 won't now be available until later in the year.
"White models of Apple's new iPhone 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year", the company said.
The news will come as a disappointment to those who've chosen to wait for the white version of the controversial handset, that has been dogged by media coverage about its reception, even though that problem hasn't affected it racking up 3m sales.
"The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected", Apple adds.
The news, though, will come as a surprise; not that Apple has delayed them, but that Steve Jobs was so unaware, or seemingly unaware that they wouldn't be able to meet the end of July deadline just 2 weeks ago.
There is no date as to exactly when they might now be available to own.
We will keep you posted. In the meantime you might want to grab the Tipex.
