BlackBerry Storm 3 details pour in

Training session unveils spec

BlackBerry Storm 3 details pour in. Phones, Mobile phones, blackberry storm 3, BlackBerry, RIM 1

A slide from a RIM training session (is there any sentence where the inclusion of RIM doesn't automatically heighten the humour?) has uncovered the specification of the hotly anticipated BlackBerry Storm 3.

Now, we told you about some early leaked snaps of a supposed Storm 3 prototype back in March and those pictures do look similar to the blurry image on the slide - although maybe without the silver finish at the bottom.

Anyway, what we can determine from the slide is that we're looking at a Storm running the new BlackBerry 6 OS with a WebKit browser, 512 MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and the ability to act as a 3G mobile hotspot - although maybe not when it first launches as it says "coming soon".

Now, if only the chap in the row in front of the picture taker would have moved his big head out of the way (or is that a chair?) we'd know exactly when to expect the next generation BlackBerry Storm handset. Instead all we know is that it is in a month ending "ember".

So we know it will come within the final third of the year at least - but not in October. We've given Jack Bauer a ring and he's going to bring round one of his hi-tech PCs that can manipulate photos by changing the angles and so on, so we'll let you know once he's uncovered the actual date.

In the meantime, you'll just have to be safe in the knowledge that the BlackBerry Storm 3 is on its way.

Are you a BlackBerry fan? Will you be getting the Storm 3 when it arrives, or are you more excited about the 9300, 9670 or 9800 that are all set for a release? Let us know the usual way.
