So, you've got your new 3D TV all setup. You've had a play on a few 3D PS3 games, but now you feel like watching a bit of 3D movie action. But you can't find the 3D offerings on your Sky+ box. That's because there aren't any until later this year. As The Wire's Clay Davis would say, "sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeit".
But don't despair, because you can get (albeit limited at the moment) 3D action via 3D ready Blu-ray players like the two just announced by Denon - the Denon DBP-2011UD and the DBP-1611UD.
Both players are universal, meaning they should play any Blu-ray, DVD or CD that you chuck in, and they can also hook up to your broadband connection to give you internet services like YouTube as well as BD Live features.
They have HDMI 1.4 output and the DBP-2011UD has a 7.1 channel analogue output as well as an RS-232C port.
There's a gig of memory on board, and you can also plug in external storage via USB and it will play back a raft of media including DivX HD+, MP3 and WMA. Both players are also DLNA 1.5 certified so you should have no bother including them in your home network.
The Denon DBP-1611UD is out in August and will cost around £400 and the DBP-2011UD follows a month later and will cost you about £200 more. You can get them both in black, but the premium model also comes in silver.
