Okay, well technically this iPhone 4 doesn't go stratospheric. It doesn't even go tropospheric. But it does go very high. And "iPhone 4 goes very high" is a naff headline so cut us some slack.

Whatever the sphere (what comes before the troposphere sciency types?), this video is pretty commendable. Not only is the chap who allows his iPhone 4 to be sent up into the sky very brave (or actually very stupid, or maybe very rich) but it also shows just how good the iPhone 4's HD video shooting is.

Sure, it's a bit wobbly, but the clarity and colour levels are fantastic. During the latest Pocket-lint podcast, which you can listen to here, Pocket-lint's news editor Rik Henderson waxed lyrical about the iPhone 4's HD video shooting - stating that it was much better than he expected.

The Apple of My Eye short film that we told you about earlier this week also shows off the iPhone 4's HD video capturing, and also demonstrates the editing capabilities within iMovie.

Does this spell end for mini HD cameras like the Flip?

Maybe, although we've already heard from Cisco who states that it is planning on enhancing the features available on the Flip, so it must feel as if there is room for its product despite the iPhone 4's HD video option.
