Yes, it's what you've all been waiting for and the real reason you got up this morning - app of the day.
The only trouble with this app is that it's rather dependent on you being a bit of an Apple fanster, as not only will you need an iPhone or iPad, but you'll also need to be sporting a Mac computer running EyeTV 3.4 or higher.
Still, if you have all this and a suitable tuner (Elgato’s Turbo.264 is recommended) this is a cracker, if you don't then maybe one of the other apps covered in our daily slot might be of interest.
Elgato Eye TV

- iPhone/iPad

- 2.99
- Where
- iTunes
In a nutshell Elgato Eye TV will allow you to watch live TV, view previously recorded shows, check the program guide and set up recordings anywhere you go, via a 3G or Wi-Fi connection.

Although this is available for the iPhone this app is more suited to iPad users as its nice big screen will make watching you fave TV shows (whether that's Murder She Wrote or otherwise - personally we prefer Columbo) a pleasure. It's also fully compatible with iOS 4.

However, it's worth checking your connection especially if you're thinking of streaming rather than recording. You can do this with the Live3G web app, which is a stripped-down version of the EyeTV app and is free.
It'll run in the Safari browser and will enable you to gauge the quality of your network before you buy the full-fat app.
