Google's Voip service, Google Voice, has just been opened up to all residents of the US, which is pretty handy as before you'd have needed an invite to join the club.
The upshot of this is that every North American will be able to make free calls and texts within the US and get transcribed voicemail, as long as they are willing to have one number to rule them all.
With over a million people using the service already, this move will no doubt see millions more using it - with uptake expected to be strong from the off.
No word, however, when Google will be making the service available to everyone else, but if you are US based and want to know more tale a look at the video above where all will be explained.
