Microsoft Xbox 360 Slim heading to UK 16 July

New slimmer console on sale soon

Microsoft Xbox 360 Slim heading to UK 16 July

15 June 2010 17:16 GMT / By Stuart Miles

There was some confusion following the Xbox 360 press event at E3 in Los Angeles on Monday, however Microsoft has now confirmed that gamers will be able to get the new slimmer Xbox 360 on 16 July.

The console, which promises a smaller, quieter, more compact design will cost £199 and be available at all the usual retail outlets across Blighty.

The news will be frustrating to UK customers, especially if they have US friends. It went on sale in the US for $299 on 14 June.

The new Xbox 360 will also feature 802.11n wireless connectivity and come with a 250GB hard drive for storing all those game saves and downloaded music and movies. Those hoping for a Blu-ray drive will be disappointed, the new model still contains the same drive as before.

Likewise while the console is a new shiny black, the controller in the box is the same as before.

So will you be buying the new console? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
