Acer continues its toe dipping into the Android OS as it has announced the release of two new Phones - the Acer beTouch E120 and beTouch E130.

The phones offer a lot of the same specs in terms of connectivity, as they both get 3G+, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS pre-installed. They also both sport the same 3.2-megapixel camera and the 1500mAh battery should mean the phones run for at least a day.

Both will be running Android 1.6 cloaked in Acer's UI, which from our review of the Acer Liquid was an easy to use, if rather basic experience.

Where they differ is in their form factor. The beTouch E120 combines a 2.8-inch touchscreen with 5-way navi key for usability - meaning it should be pretty easy to pick up for anyone wanting to get into the whole Android thing.

There's also the inclusion of Facebook and Twidroid applications for social networking and an option to stick in a 32GB SD card for storing multimedia.

The beTouch E130 has a pretty thin format at just 11.5mm and 109 grams, meaning unsightly bulges should be kept to a minimum, and along with a 2.6-inch touchscreen there's a full QWERTY keyboard.

Going for more of a businees angle the handset also offers compatibility with all popular email services as well as Microsoft Exchange servers (through Roadsync), as well as the possibility to synchronize your contacts to the web (through Google Contact Sync).

If either of these phones get you hot under the collar then the Acer beTouch E120 will be available in mid July, whilst the Acer beTouch E130 will be around August.
