Aside from what you see in the trailer video above, shown at the Microsoft E3 press conference on Monday, we know little about the new title from Konami.

However, that small detail aside, that doesn't mean we can't all enjoy it, if not just for the action captured.

Rather than guns, and lots of them, Metal Gear Solid Rising focuses on you playing a dude who happens to be rather nifty, and we mean nifty, with a sword.

That means you'll spend most of the levels chopping people up as best you can in as many ways as you can, as the video we recorded shows.

Still with the ability to hack and slash your way through virtually anything in the game; from people to vehicles to buildings to even watermelon, you just know it's going to be a lot of fun for gamers fed up with the normal run-of-the-mill shooter.

As to when it will become a reality, your guess is as good as ours.

What do you think? Will this tempt you away from a machine gun or pistol? Let us know in the comments below.
