Acer today announced a new edition to its Scuderia Ferrari range of laptops- the Ferrari 3200. The new laptop features the latest low-power mobile AMD Athlon 64 processor 2800+ and harnesses the exclusive AMD64 technology (although the unit is currently only shipping with XP home edition).
A large and high brightness (200nit) 15” TFT display, powered by a hyper-fast graphics engine, ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 with 128MB dedicated video RAM, base system memory of 512MB DDR RAM, scaleable to 2048MB, and a 80GB HDD ensures a powerful machine inside, rather like the cars themselves. A slot loading DVD-Super Multi drive and a 4-in-1 card reader (although it doesn't support Compact Flash) are included in the model.
Additional connectivity is offered via Bluetooth and Wireless 802.11g built in and the laptop does hold back when it comes to inputs or output sockets either: the Ferrari 3200 is equipped with a DVD reader/burner, 4 ultra-fast USB 2.0 ports, S-Video out port, FireWire IEEE 1394 interface and a 4-in-1 memory card reader.
The Ferrari 3200 is available from June priced at £1762
