Plantronics has launched a new Bluetooth headset it is hoping will appeal to business users who want the benefits of a Bluetooth headset for their mobile phone that will also allow them to connect to VoIP services. In what Plantronics is calling the first in the world, the new Voyager 510-USB headset features a unique plug-and-play USB Bluetooth voice adapter allowing the headset to be used with a PC without installing any Bluetooth software and a mobile phone at the same time via multipoint.
The new technology made possible with the latest Bluetooth protocol, allows the headset to be shared between a mobile phone and PC so a call can be taken from either at the touch of a button.
The Voyager 510 headset features include a noise-cancelling microphone and Plantronics WindSmart technology.
VoIP services such as Skype are supported via a software application called PerSonoCall and users of the Voyager 510-USB should expect to get up to 6 hours talk time and up to 100 hours standby time
The Plantronics Voyager 510-USB will cost around £100. Phones, Phone accessories, Headsets, Plantronics
