Adobe has finally announced the launch of Lightroom 3, its photo editing software aimed at photographers rather than image designers, with a stack of new features.
The Adobe Lightroom 3 beta was first released in October 2009 and is now ready roll, either for you to try, buy outright, or upgrade from the now previous version 2.2.
New to the mix and ready for photographers to play with is improved performance, support for DSLR video files, image watermarking, easier image importing, perspective correction, lens correction, greater support for tethered shooting and film grain simulation for those still harking back toward the "good old days".
And for those who like shooting at high ISO levels (who doesn't) there is a vastly improved noise reduction feature too boot.
As the battle against Apple and its Aperture software heats up this should bring Adobe back in the game.
Prices start from £74.66 for the upgrade or £232.65 if you're buying the new application outright for the first time.
You can read our Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 beta First Look review here, while we work on a full review.
We will keep you posted.
