Apple has confirmed that the new iPhone 4, announced during the company's keynote speech at WWDC, will hit stores on 24 June in the UK and the US.
Although Apple, O2, Vodafone and Orange have yet to set prices in the UK, the new phone brings with it a stack of new features and will be available in the US into two storage configurations - 16GB and 32GB - as well as two colours - white and black.
The new iPhones will cost $199 and $299 respectively, with the 3GS dropping to $99 in the US on launch day. The iPhone 3G has been canned. Kaput.
The global rollout will see the US, France, Germany, UK and Japan as part of the initial wave with a further 18 countries being prepped for launch in July. Those countries are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Apple hopes to add a further 24 more countries in August, and then a further 44 in September to bring the tally to 88 in time for Christmas.
Pre-orders will go live for the iPhone 4 beginning Tuesday 15 June from the Apple Online Store or you can reserve an iPhone 4 to pick up at an Apple Retail Store.
Carphone Warehouse and Phone4U have both confirmed that they will also be stocking the new model.
Those not fussed about the new phone but already have an iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS will be able to download the new iOS 4 (the new name for iPhone OS 4) from 21 June, although Apple confirms that some features won't work.
iPod touch users (not first generation) will also be getting the update ahead of the official launch of the new phone.
Vodafone has confirmed that it will be ranging the new iPhone 4, however at this time was unable to give us further information in relation to pricing. Judging by the information we have been given, we expect Orange and O2 to be stocking it as well.
We'll keep you posted.
UPDATE: O2 has confirmed that it will be stocking the new iPhone 4 and that "O2 customers still in contract will get a limited time special upgrade offer."
