TVCatchup brings Freeview to your iPad

The iPad suddenly gets a purpose

TVCatchup brings Freeview to your iPad. Home Cinema, Hardware, iPad, TVCatchup 0

TVCatchup, the online service that lets you stream Freeview television stations to your computer and iPhone has just launched an iPad friendly version of the site.

Although claiming to be in "beta" the new service, which requires you to login (don't worry it's free) will not take full advantage of that bigger 9.7-inch screen you've got.

How? Well the channels are now spread out three abreast and the video window fills out the screen rather than you having to do some jiggery pokery with it via the iPhone version.

The quality is good, but not amazing, however considering it will set you up for watching television (all 39 channels of it) around the house; in bed, in the kitchen, and it's free you can't really go wrong.

Oh and it's just in time for the World Cup too.
