MSI is having a busy old time at Computex 2010. Not only has it been showing off its Wind Pad, the 10-inch Windows 7 tablet, it's also been using the expo as a platform to launch a whole range of new F and G series notebooks.

Kicking off with the F series, which is MSI's stylish notebook range, it has announced five new models - the FX400, FX600, FR600, FX610 and the FX700. These range from 14-inch to 17-inch and the emphasis is on looking good. A textured black finish is complemented by a coloured film print coating and a chrome plated MSI logo.

It's not all about looking pretty though, the F series packs quite a spec-heavy punch as well. Audio quality should be top notch as a result of working with Dynaudio and THX and the FX400, FX600, FR600, and FX700 all come with an Intel Core i5 processor. The FX610 is more battery friendly. It also has AMD’s Danube Champlain platform built on a more efficient 45-nm process.

If you're serious about gaming and multimedia then the four new models in the G series range may be more up your street.

Dynaudio is again on board for the GT760 and the GT660. These notebooks are CPU bad boys, packing Intel’s massive quad-core Core i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 285M discrete graphics cards with 1 GB GDDR3 to boot.

There's also the GX640 and the GX740 which are equipped with Intel’s Core i5 chip, and boast ATI Radeon HD5870 or HD5850 graphics cards with 1GB GDDR5.

The G series also contain USB 3.0 ports for mega quick data transfers and, with three available DDR3 slots, you'll be able to have up to 12GB RAM on board.

No news on availability or pricing yet, but with the news flying out of Taipei at a rate of knots, we'll keep our eyes open for any updates.
