Samsung budget Android handset to get Galaxy 5 title?

Yesterday we told you how GSM Arena was reporting on a budget Android device, apparently called the I5500 Corby. Because the Corby range is known by the Genio title in the UK, it was suggested the I5500 could become the next Genio handset. However, it now appears that this phone is, in fact, the Samsung Galaxy 5.

New photos taken by Android lover Phandroid show the Galaxy 5/GT-15500 model on display amongst many, many other Android handsets at Google's I/O conference in San Francisco.

There's no new details about the handset yet unfortunately, but at least we now have a visual. All we can say is that it's got a smallish looking screen and it looks a bit like the Genio Touch.

We'll confirm the details as soon as we get them.
