Is Samsung's new Genio the next budget Android device?

HTC Wildfire budget rival possibly coming soon

Looking for an entry level Android powered smartphone and realised that the HTC Wildfire's not rocking your world? Well, mobile phone specialist GSM Arena has stumbled across a Samsung handset on an Italian website that it is stating could be the next version of Samsung's pocket-friendly Genio range. Its also saying this could be the Genio's first foray into the crazy world of Android.

Well, its not saying that exactly because in the US of A they call the Genio the Corby. Genio is a far better name than Corby though, so 1-0 England.

The Samsung I5500 Corby is reportedly going to take the Genio range to the next level, by ditching the TouchWiz OS and going big time with Android 2.1.

The reports states the I5500 has b/g/n Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and GPS. It's not certain on the camera resolution but it's guessing that it won't be more than 3-megapixels.

The photo given above is only a mock up unfortunately, but as soon as we catch a glimpse of the real thing we'll be sure to let you know.
