We at Pocket Lint would hate for any internet baddies to get the better of you by tricking you into installing nasty adware on your PCs. That's why we're bringing you this news from security specialist Sophos.

It is saying that a bogus video has begun circulating on Facebook that directs users to install a media player that is actually a piece of adware.

The link to the video looks like it comes from a friends' account and reads:

this is without doubt the sexiest video ever! :P :P :P

It is accompanied by a thumbnail of a lady on an exercise bike wearing a short skirt. Clicking the thumbnail could be your downfall, however, so don't be tempted.

"You may want to watch a sexy video, but you're more likely to end up being plagued by pop-up advertising," warned Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos.  "Not only is adware being installed on your computer, but the rogue Facebook application is posting the same message to all of your friends' accounts.  It's no surprise that your friends might click to watch the movie when it looks to all intents and purposes that you are the person who has sent it to them."

If you've already been had by this scam, Sophos is warning you to do a full-scan with an up-to-date anti-virus program and change all your passwords immediately.

So, we've warned you all now and if you click the sexy vid, well, you've only got yourselves to blame.
