As hotly anticipated as hovercars, but more likely to make an appearance this decade, Fable III on the Xbox 360 promises a stack of new features and characters, and heralds in a new beginning for the franchise.

One of the game characters to make his debut, faithful butler Jasper is voiced by John Cleese who, in this video, gives an insight into the plot of the entire game. And his presence certainly complies with Lionhead's insistence that this latest instalment is heavily peppered with comedy.

The video also reveals a revamped control system and 3D dynamic maps, allowing you to look around the environment without feeling like you've left the game. It also shows some previously unknown nuggets that even fans of the former two games will find surprising.

Fable III is expected to hit stores around Christmas time.
