Apple has introduced its new MobileMe webmail application in beta. Current MobileMe users can get involved by requesting an invite after signing in to their account. It seems that the war between Apple and Google for tech supremacy has a new battlefield - web email.
Apple announced the launch on its website. It stated that MobileMe Mail will have: Widescreen and compact views - the screenshot provided looks like a cross between the iPad mail app with a bit of an iTunes feel, rules and filtering to stop your inbox filling up with junk, archiving and formatting options, increased performance and increased safety across all of your Apple devices with SSL security.
The launch signals that Apple realises that MobileMe users will probably now have more than one device from which they check their accounts and, although the service is voluntary, you can bet that uptake will huge. Fanboys love an Apple launch don't you know?
