Nintendo announce backup plan to motion sensored remote controller

10 May 2006 13:35 GMT / By Stuart Miles

While Nintendo is keen to emphasis how its motion sensitive controller will change the way we play games, gamers concerned that they just won't get it, can rest assured that the company has announced it will be creating a more traditionally designed joypad.

Called the Wii Classic Controller, the controller announced by Nintendo at E3 in Los Angeles looks like Nintendo's SNES controller of yesteryear with an added analogue sticks.

Currently only shown in "classic" white the controller, will no doubt appeal to old skool gamers not quiet ready to take on the joys of motion sensors.

It could of course also be a backup plan for Nintendo if like previous attempts from manufactures to create motion controlled gamepads goes horribly wrong.
