Camera manufactuer Pentax has launched the Optio M90, a 12.1-megapixel compact which the company describes as "the perfect choice for a variety of photography scenes and modes".

The aforementioned 12.1-megapixel sensor is complemented by a 2.7-inch LCD on the back and a wide-angle 5x zoom lens. The outside is coated with rubber for shock protection and easy grippability, and there's ISO up to 1600, burst shooting at 14.6fps and 480p video recording.

It comes with all the usual automatic scene selection modes, as well as face, smile and blink detection. It's available in two colours - red and black - and costs £120. It'll be available from the middle of June.
