HP Slate snapped in real life

Not just snazzy press shots

HP Slate snapped in real life

20 April 2010 9:47 GMT / By Duncan Geere

We've seen the HP Slate waved at us from a stage. We've seen various trailers, press shots and flash demonstrations. But we haven't seen someone other than HP take pictures of the HP Slate, arousing suspicions that it might not look as pretty in real life.

Thankfully, Conecti.ca has handled the device and posted up a whole pile of pictures of the tablet PC, which runs Windows 7 with custom HP software. They've also given it a preview verdict, which is "meh". Ah well - it's not like there's not a whole pile of other tablets coming to the market in the near future to get excited about instead.

As previously reported, the HP Slate will feature an 8.9-inch display (compared to the iPad's 9.7-inch screen), a 1.6Ghz Atom Menlow Z530 processor, 32GB or 64GB of storage and a whole host of multimedia and connectivity options, including a snazzy HDMI cradle. It's due to be released later this year.
