Toshiba has announced a series of upgrades for its Satellite line of laptops. There's the A660, L650, L670 and C650, all of which will be arriving in UK shores within a few months. Let's take a look at them individually.
Top of the range is the A660. It's a multimedia-focused machine and so it comes with a 16-inch 16:9 display and the ability to hook it up to DLNA-capable devices. It has an improved keyboard design, a multi-touch trackpad, a numeric keypad and the ability to play music while in sleep mode.
Inside, there's the choice of a variety of Core processors, upto 640GB of HD space, upto 8GB of RAM, upto 1GB of dedicated NVidia graphics, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, HDMI-out, a Blu-ray drive, Bluetooth, a webcam, card reader, and the company's upscaling Resolution+ technology.
Moving on, the L670 and L650 are also desktop-replacement devices, with an eye on multimedia. The L670 has a 17.3-inch display, with the L650 going for a 15.6-inch variant. They both have Core processors inside, and upto 500GB of hard disk space. They too have the Resolution+ tech inside for upscaling standard-definition content.
Lastly, the C650 is a low-end, budget model. It has a 15.6-inch display, and inside there's a Core i3 processor, upto 4GB of RAM, upto 500GB of HDD space, integrated graphics, b/g/n Wi-Fi, card reader and DVD writer.
No word on specific release dates or pricing for any of the models just yet, but as soon as we hear anything, we'll let you know.
