iPhone 4G to come with camera flash?

Giveaway features in 4.0 software point towards the facts

Rumours that the fourth generation iPhone, expected to be unveiled this summer, will come with a camera flash have been given another boost with the launch of the iPhone 4.0 OS software.

According to AppleInsider, the framework includes, three features labelled AVCaptureDevice.hasFlash, VCaptureDevice.flashMode and AVCaptureDevice.hasTorch. As well as their names sounding like a dead giveaway, their functions are said to be checking the device has a camera flash, activating flash mode and switching them on to use as a torch, in that order.

Couple this with the latest indication that Apple is making deals with Philips to supply LED units, and with OmniVision to deliver a slew of 5-megapixel CMOS sensors and suddenly you get the kind of camera that iPhoniacs have always dreamed off and were mocked for not having in equal measure.

Once the Bluetooth, multitasking, copy and pasting and now camera issues have been sorted, Apple might have finally finished plugging all the major gaps. Just HD OLED screens, longer lasting batteries and LTE and WiMAX support to look forward to then. Right?
