8 April 2010 18:16 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Apple has confirmed that it has sold 450,000 iPads in the US since it went on launch on Saturday.

The number, which is up from 300,000 on day 1, shows there is still an appetite for the iPad as it continues to sell through the week.

Something that continues to sell is iPad Apps, with Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO, confirming that it has sold over 3.5 million iPad apps in the first 6 days and over 600,000 iBooks, although Apple hasn't said whether that does or does not include the free book they gave away with the iBooks app.

So Should you buy an iPad? take our quiz to find out.

Jobs also confirmed that the company had sold over 50 million iPhones and 35 million iPod touch devices to date.
