THQ has announced that it is developing a video game based on the television series The Sopranos.

Following hot on the heels of EA's gaming success The Godfather, THQ has said that the new Xbox360 and PlayStation2 game will feature the voices of various cast members, including James Gandolfini as mob boss Tony Soprano.

In the game you play illegitimate son of "Big Pussy", given an opportunity to demonstrate your loyalty to Tony Soprano.

The game will centre around you earning money on collections, protecting your turf through intimidation, and gaining admiration within your own family to move up in the ranks of the organisation.

"It's clear that fans want more of The Sopranos, and creating a game that puts the player in their world is a great way to satisfy them", said Carmi Zlotnik, executive vice president, New Media Programming, HBO.
