New bigger size as previously leaked

Zune HD goes 64GB

1 April 2010 11:00 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Following Microsoft slip-up of adding a link to a 64GB Zune page that didn't exist from its Zune HD homepage, it should come as no surprise to find that a couple of days on the company has announced a 64GB Zune HD model for real.

The new model, still only available to music fans in the US, will cost $349.99 and offer 64GB to store all you music and videos on - ideal for when you hit the world beyond your home.

If 64GB sounds impressive, that's because in real terms it means you can store 16,000 songs, or 20 hours of high definition video from Zune Marketplace, or 25,000 pictures on the go.

Available in their choice of platinum, black, blue, red, green, purple and magenta colours, those not ready to go that "big" will be pleased to know that the price of the other Zune HD models will be coming down.

The Zune 16GB device at $199.99 and the Zune HD 32GB device at $269.99.

While you won't get access to the thousands of Apps for the iPod touch, it does make it considerably cheaper. Apple's 64GB version of the iPod touch is $399.99 while the 32GB version $299.99.

Get them while they're hot.
