Apple iPad hitting UK 24 April claims latest rumour

All staff supposedly told "no holiday" allowed

Apple iPad hitting UK 24 April claims latest rumour

31 March 2010 10:55 GMT / By Stuart Miles

The iPad could be landing in the UK as soon as the 24 April according to leaks online.

The date, which comes just 21 days after the US launch this weekend, is based on speculation that Apple UK and European staff have been told they can't take holiday on that day even though it's a Saturday.

Ubergizmo isn't citing its source for the claim, but given that Apple has said that it hopes to launch the iPad in the UK at the end of April, the date fits.

The article goes on to suggest that considering the iPad went on pre-order 3 weeks ahead of the official launch date UK customers could be about to get a nice Easter surprise.

Of course, how much the new gadget will cost is still very much in the air. In the US the entry level model costs $499 plus sales tax.

If you live in the UK, have you ordered an iPad from the US? Or are you waiting 'till the official UK release? Let us know in the comments below.
