University promises iPads for all students

Yep, iPad hype is starting to reach fever pitch in the US with one university going as far as to say that it will be buying the new gadget from Apple for all its students starting in the Autumn.

According to Apple-following blog TUAW (The Unofficial Apple Weblog) a tipster has, well tipped them off, that Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania has announced that starting in Fall, 2010, every full-time student will get an iPad.

According to TUAW reader Dirk: "Students will be able to download their textbooks to their iPads from the iBook Store. In addition, iPads can be used as phones and for air and file sharing, as well as note-taking".

We don't know about you, but we were lucky to scrounge a pen and a bit of paper in our lectures, let alone a state of the art tablet.
