The iPad doesn't do multi-tasking - yet - but that hasn't stopped a developer creating an app for the ipad that embraces Apple's Dashboard widget system and allowing users to run multiple widgets in an app at once.

As the video shows users could run a number of widgets at the same time all within the same app. Now all you would have to do is run an email widget, a twitter widget, a video widget and a video widget and you've got a multi-tasking device that everyone wants.

Where the iPad succeeds of course is that it will have a considerably larger screen for this to work thanks to the 9.7-inch screen.

Whether the app, created by Carnegie Mellon student Rich Hong will make it into the app store via Apple's approval process is anyone's guess at the moment, but its still a very clever idea and would solve a lot of problems and bitching from the fanboys.
