First announced in December, a new set top box is promising to revolutionise our TVs is to go up for pre-order at the beginning of April.

Made by 3view, the new "connected set-top box" packs together free HD terrestrial TV, Sky Player, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, home streaming and more.

Adding to the mix is the promise of more apps in the future, 500GB of hard drive space to store recordings on, and a DLNA connect so users can stream content from a DLNA enabled device like a Samsung phone.

“First and foremost, we wanted to ensure that people could receive the latest free-to-air programmes, including HD, at the highest possible quality without a cable or satellite subscription.  However, 3view is so much more than just this. It lets people watch and search Sky Player, YouTube and hundreds of other Internet TV services as well as use their favourite social networking sites and information services from all around the web," says 3view MD John Donovan.

3view is available for pre-order from April 7th for £299.
