Let the games begin

24 March 2010 0:00 GMT / By Ian Hughes

There’s been a subtle shift in the way us Londoners have started to feel about the 2012 Olympics now. Originally most of us feared it would be another white elephant, like the Dome, or Boris Johnson as mayor, but in the past few months, as we’ve seen the very real progress being made, we’re starting to get behind the idea.

The stadium is rising above the Stratford skyline and, in my opinion, it will make a far finer landmark than the new Wembley ever could.

So, we're starting to think that the games might actually happen, and that they might actually be a good thing too.

Demand for tickets might be off the charts, so it’s best to get registered now.

Once registered, your name will go into a public ballot for tickets.
