Sky launches 3DTV in UK pubs with Man U Chelsea game

Sky has confirmed its plans to launch 3D in pubs across the UK, with the announcement that it will show the Man Utd vs Chelsea game on Saturday in over 1000 pubs across the land.

Footie fans will be able to get a glimpse of the new technology, which has so far only really been experienced by a select few as they drink a pint.

Following the date, Sky has promised that it will show at least a further five Premier League games - yet to be announced - before the end of the current season (Sunday 9 May) and the Coca-Cola Football League Play-Off Finals from Wembley Stadium at the end of May, all live and all in 3D the company has said.

Last week Sony, Samsung, LG and Panasonic all confirmed plans to have 3D TVs on sale soon, some as early as this month.

Sky 3D is compatible with all of the product ranges being introduced by these manufacturers and works with both ‘active’ and ‘passive’ 3D formats.
