Smartphones go cheap

Samsung has announced two new mobile phones in the US - the Samsung Sunburst and the Samsung Strive.

The Sunburst, not to be confused with the new name for Opal Fruits, will feature a 3-inch resistive touchscreen display while the Strive, most likely striving for something better, will sport a QWERTY keyboard.

Other features of the Sunburst will be a 2-megpixel camera, Bluetooth and a range of AT&T features like AT&T Navigator.

The Samsung Strive is a vertical slider, following the lines of the Samsung Propel family of messaging devices. It too gets a 2-megapixel camera.

The Samsung Sunburst is available for $39.99 after a 2-year agreement and mail-in-rebate, while the Samsung Strive is available for $19.99 for a limited time both on the AT&T network.
