Microsoft has shown off the first official hardware prototype for its Windows Phone 7 Series due out later in the year.
The LG handset, which earlier reports have suggested will hit in September, was whipped out by Microsoft while filming at the Engadget Show in New York.
The new handset will sport a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen display.
In keeping with the Windows Phone 7 Series chassis restrictions laid out by the Redmond-based company, the phone will also feature the soon-to-be-trademark buttons of Back, Windows, and Search.
Elsewhere Engadget are saying that it is just slightly thicker than an iPhone, it features a dedicated camera button and that there is a 5-megapixel camera on the back.
However with 7 months to go, you have to ask how much the specs and possibly design will change before launch. Will this be the first handset to launch? Will the specs change? Have your say in the comments below.
