21 February 2010 22:02 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Sony has shown off an array of new camera concepts at this year's PMA trade show in California.

The new concepts include a new compact Alpha DSLR camera system that employs an Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor and full AVCHD video capability.

The new ultra-compact camera that will go up against Olympus and Panasonic's Micro Four Thirds cameras will sport interchangeable lenses and APS-C sensor similar to the Samsung NX10.

Sony, who is staying tight-lipped on further details, exhibited the new camera in early concept mock-up form at PMA. Shown alongside the compact the company showed a selection of compatible interchangeable lenses.

No word on when the new camera will be hitting stores.
