Harmonix denies Hendrix Rock Band rumours

Legendary guitarist game not in the works

Despite what you might have heard, Harmonix is not working on a Jimi Hendrix Rock Band title. Rumours have been creeping around for a few days, with a wide range of websites citing an interview in the LA Times with Hendrix's sister Janie.

Janie was discussing a deal that Sony Music had made for the 60s legend's recordings, and the interview reads: "Sony vowed to make his music 'available through every type of media' - including a new edition of 'Rock Band' that Janie Hendrix says should appear before the end of this year".

However, Rock Band creators Harmonix told Kotaku: "While we have not made any official announcements regarding Jimi Hendrix and Rock Band, we are excited to say that we are in discussions to bring more of his music to our platform. Stay tuned". However, the reps categorically denied that a standalone game was in production, meaning that it's likely to be a pack of downloadable content for the game instead.

More about that DLC when we get it.
