The developer of an iPhone application got a chilling email from Apple over the weekend - the kind that all developers dread. It told him that his app - "Wobble iBoobs" - was being removed from the App Store due to a policy change to remove "sexual content". More specifically, it said:

"The App Store continues to evolve, and as such, we are constantly refining our guidelines. Your application, Wobble iBoobs (Premium Uncensored), contains content that we had originally believed to be suitable for distribution. However, we have recently received numerous complaints from our customers about this type of content, and have changed our guidelines appropriately".

Later it added, "We have decided to remove any overtly sexual content from the App Store, which includes your application". A number of other applications seem to have been removed, including "Exotic Positions" and "Sexy Women". However, a few other apps that are most definitely rated R are still present. All still require the user to confirm that they're over 17 before you're able to download them.

Apple hasn't made a statement on the matter, but these are applications that have been present on the app store for some time without issue.
