Google Docs gets web clipboard

As months pass, the functionality of Google Docs seems to be getting closer and closer to that of a real office suite. The latest addition is that of an extended clipboard, storing any copied or cut text in the cloud and then allowing you to paste into another document with formatting intact.

To access the service, you can't use your regular copy/paste shortcuts - ctrl-c and ctrl-v. Instead you need to hit the cloud clipboard button on the taskbar, which will then give you the option of copying the content to a special section on Google's servers. You can paste in much the same way.

One benefit of this approach is that it allows you to copy multiple items and also to keep them over a number of browser sessions - they stay on the clipboard for up to 30 days and can be used across windows, browsers and even different computers.

The functionality should be live in your account now, and works on both regular Google accounts and on Google App accounts.
