Sony updates Japanese PSP firmware

Japanese gamers get new features

Sony has announced a new firmware update for the PSP handheld games console.

The new update; v2.7 for PSP is currently only available for Japanese PSPs at the moment but as with previous firmware updates is expected to make it over to the UK and US in the near future.

The new firmware will have Macromedia Flash 6 for the Internet Browser as well as having the the capability to save audio from RSS channels.

Other updates include a Video L/R setting, playback of AAC files and some bug fixes.

UPDATE: SCEE has confirmed that the firmware upgrade will be able in the UK form from Tuesday 25th May 2006 either downloaded directly to the PSP browser via WiFi or from www.yourpsp.com.
