The Symbian Foundation has unveiled the first release of "Symbian^3" due to be "code complete" by the end of next month.
The video above from Nokia gives an overview of the updated platform, with more advanced usability, faster networking and graphics acceleration in 2D and 3D for games and apps are all promised.
Other boasts include more efficient memory management, for multi-tasking, support for HDMI, homepage widgets and auto switching from a cell network to WLAN.
The first devices running the new platform are expected to ship as early as Q3 this year - we will keep you posted.
