It looks like Samsung has given away a little more than they intended at Mobile World Congress 2010, whilst announcing their new Wave S8500 handset.

Included in the product images and specifications are the details of the I8520 projector phone. Journalists joked about the abundance of detail about already released phones, before realising that they were looking at something new.

The Samsung I8520 is detailed as a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen handset, with an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with flash, making this something of a high-end handset.

Little detail is included in the tech specs relating to the projector, except the mention of the "Specialized Projector UI" listed as a "Value-added Feature". The fact it carries a DLP logo on the rear side gives the game away however.

Equally suspicious is that most of the icons are labelled as "Market App" one of which distinctly shows the Android icon popping it's head around the corner, with the words "Android Mobile Phone" written across the icon. 

The handset measures 123 x 59.8 x 14.9mm and packs in the normal HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS. The video and audio specs look impressive, with wide codec support and the ability to shoot 720p video at 30fps.

In the Samsung Wave press conference today the Korean company said the Wave was Episode 1. Could the I8520 be an Android Episode 2?
