Shazam updates with Last.fm functionality

Create radio stations with your tagged music

Music recognition service Shazam has updated its iPhone application to add Last.fm personalized radio functionality and the ability to get touring information and gig tickets.

You can select an artist you like, and then choose to build a station around that artist on Last.fm. That'll generate a playlist of bands and songs that have something in common with the artist in question. If you're a live music fan, you'll also be able to see when that artist is touring locally - using geolocation functionality.

Shazam's CEO, Andrew Fisher, told Pocket-lint: "We are delighted to bring these enhancements to the more than 15 million Shazam iPhone and iPod touch users around the world. We are committed to continually improving our apps and our collaboration with Last.fm, a leading consumer music brand, allows us to deliver an even more compelling music journey".

The updated Shazam app is available now in 32 countries from the App Store. The Last.fm app - required for the personalised radio functionality - is only available in the USA, UK and Germany.
